Rams announce dates for Fairchild's first spring practices

FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Fans will have their first opportunity to see the Rams on the field in the Steve Fairchild era on Tuesday, March 25. That's when Colorado State opens its annual spring practice sessions under the new head football coach. The annual spring game is Saturday, April 19.

All told, the Rams will conduct the NCAA-allowed 15 practices within the permitted 34-day period, including the spring game. The NCAA permits contact in 12 of those sessions. Eight of those 12 can involve tackling, and three of those eight can be devoted primarily to 11-on-11 scrimmages.

Following are 2008 spring football dates (all times are approximate and subject to change with little or no notice):

Sat., March 29 Practice #4 (9:30 a.m.)

Thu., April 3 Practice #6 (3:30-6 p.m.)

Fri., April 4 Practice #7 (3:30-6 p.m.)

Sat., April 5 Practice #8 (9:30 a.m.)

Tue., April 8 Practice #9 (3:30-6 p.m.)

Thu., April 10 Practice #10 (3:30-6 p.m.)

Fri., April 11 Practice #11 (3:30-6 p.m.)

Sat., April 12 Practice #12 (TBA)

Tue., April 15 Practice #13 (3:30-6 p.m.)
