Q&A with Marcus Walker
A native of Kansas City, Kansas, Marcus Walker has emerged as a playmaker for the Rams this season, ranking among the best on the team in scoring, assists and steals.
A junior from Century High School in Hillsboro, Ore., Niomi Ridge stood out at Saturday's first annual Front Range Invitational in Laramie, Wyo. Helping her women's team to take first place in the meet, Ridge hit an NCAA regional mark in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 10.75 inches. That effort also matched Liz Toman's 2000 Colorado State school record.
"She actually had some pretty good attempts at 6 feet, which would've been an Olympic Trials B standard," said Head Coach Brian Bedard, referring to Ridge.
Ridge, a health and exercise science major, will help lead the Rams at the Mountain West Conference championships May 15-17 in Fort Worth, Texas.
